About Us
Epoch (e’pik) is defined as a particular period of time, especially one considered remarkable or noteworthy. This is our time to make our mark.
Each quilt that we make marks a special time in our lives, whether it is a collection of memories from our history, or to give history to generations going forward. Our Epoch would like to invite you to a community where together, we can make our mark and share our story.
Our Epoch offers quality products at a reasonable price. We only offer high-quality items, the same items we use for quilting and sewing projects. Our brands include: Moda/United Notions, Robert Kaufman, Aurifil, Clover, and more. New brands and products are added constantly.
We are committed to serving you and the quilting community. We provide tutorials, introduction and instruction on using products, recommendations and advice. We like to pass on worthy information from other quilting and sewing enthusiasts as well.
Please share with us your journey!

About Andi Settlemoir Barney:
I am a wife and mother first, above all. The greatest joy in my life was realizing, after 10 years of friendship, that my husband and I were meant to be together. We followed this discovery with defying medical odds and bringing our son into the world. With those two alone, my life is complete.
I ‘retired’ from a thirteen year career in graphics, writing, design layout, and marketing to stay home and raise our son. Being the natural-born worker that I am, it didn’t take long for me to realize it was time to do my own thing. Making Modern Memories was born on January 30, 2011, and I focused on making tshirt and memory quilts for customers. My passion for the quilting industry and my business grew, and now we are branching off and adding Our Epoch, to offer a community to quilting and sewing enthusiasts.
When I’m not spending time with my son, my husband, or my closest family and friends, I am usually behind a sewing machine, both for work and pleasure. I do a lot of reading, researching and writing in a number of areas (finance, psychology, health). My husband and I are very much into urban homesteading and self-preservation; we are currently looking for land to add chickens, bees and a plentiful garden. I am also the President and a founding member of the Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild.
I draw my inspiration from many sources – the women (and man) in our Guild are by far some of the most talented and inspiring people I’ve ever met. I am also grateful for social media for linking me to so many talented people to connect with on a daily basis.
